So I've lived at the connection for 2 years and it was pretty decent. When I first moved in , it was infested with cockroaches but regardless I took care of that myself within a month with traps. Pest control really didn't do much since I already did it. The leasing office was super nice and helpful the whole time I was there. I think what people don't understand before they move to the connection is that you get what you pay for. So you can't really expect anything outstanding. The location is not to far from downtown/UT but you pay cheap prices. The type of lease you're signing is just for the room. So if you're not moving in with your friends or people you know , you can get roommates you won't get along with. The leasing office can only do so much to assist you with roommate issues .Which I don't find to be their fault. No one truly knows someones living habits from an application. In regards to the community at night, it does get a little shady and I'm pretty sure there is drug dealing going on. But again, you get what you pay for. I had no issues and minded my own business and just kept my day going. The connection is definitely not a place to stay at for a long period of time unless you plan to live with people you know. I would consider it as a great transition apartment.

I chose to ignore all the horror stories I read online thinking how bad can it actully be? and I had to live with the consequences for one year. First, my two roommates and I (all mid-20s working professionals) were placed in a 4br unit with a nasty, violent, 46-yr-old woman who was a hoarder. Upon move-in the apartment was filthy including our unoccupied bathroom, ants in the kitchen crawling over left-out food from this disgusting woman, and the entire common area filled with her junk. We cleaned up and tried to be pleasant with this woman, but she would yell profanities at us and slam doors and make threats. When we addressed this with management they said that the 3 OF US (who did nothing wrong) could each pay a ridiculous amount of money to move to a different unit, instead of moving the one person who was the problem. They did nothing to help us, telling us if it was really so bad we should call the police (which we ended up having to!!) Throughout the year we had so many more problems, especially with the horrible, rude girls who work in the office. Seriously, it takes a real low-life to work there and scam people the way they do. One of them even hit my roommates car in the parking lot! Idiots. Basically they will do anything they can to get you locked in a lease, and once you are they will do anything to take your money. They also allowed maintenance/cleaning crews to steal property from my apartment. I could write a novel about how terrible this apartment complex is, but all I really want to do is stop people from making the same mistake that myself (and SO many other people per these reviews) have made. Its not worth it just for the cheap rent. I am now at a very affordable complex with really sincere, caring management and I am so much happier. So please, do not live at Connection! You will regret it. Okay, cue the bs lies in the response thats about to follow.........

This place deserves a 5 star in everything from all the facilities provided and quick resolve of maintenance requests. Why did I rate a one star instead? BEWARE before signing a contract. I was told before I signed, that my lease would terminate in July. I was even given a parking sticker that expires in July. Fortunately, it is not a binding contract because there was no meeting of the minds that it was until Nov. Few days later of them forwarding the DIGITAL contract, there was a sign above the door stating that the contract was RENEWED. Sounds like they are covering their tracks. We will see if they will lawfully make the correction and provide me with a new legally binding contract that will fit a new need of a 1 BR/1BA.

I found out when I received a letter from a collection agency. REALLY!!! This is how they conduct business. Why? again Why? Was I never contacted about this issue? Do you know this could of been handled differently. There is definitely a lack of caring . Stay away, you're better off else where. Rented a room here for a year. It was in one of the units with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. After one of my original roommates moved out, they moved in a previously homeless, 45 year old, felon. About a month after he moved in, my other two roommates and I came home at the same time, the apartment was destroyed. All the windows in the living area had been broken and 45 year old guys bedroom door was unhinged and his room was destroyed. Glass on the floor from sliding glass closet doors, his window completely gone. He shows up three days later to say he brought a girl over and she destroyed the apartment when he wouldnt let her stay there. He was lying of course. A few days later Im in my room and hear loud banging coming from the living room. The 45 year old guy is apparently renovating by knocking down the wall connecting the living room to his bedroom. There was a 6 foot by 4 foot hole in the wall by the time he was done. Over the next couple weeks he destroyed the bathroom on his side of the apartment, threw all of our kitchen utensils like pots and pans and silverware over the balcony. He would steal laundry detergent and pour it in his closet. My other two roommates and I let the leasing office know what was going on. They never did anything about it even though he was a danger to my roommates and I. Anytime they were asked about his status in our apartment the would just say were working on it. All of the windows were busted out for the beginning of summer and the A/C couldnt cool the apartment. We were still expected to pay electricity bill which came out to be $200 for each of us. After three months they finally got around to evicting this guy, but by then my lease was up and I left this place behind me. Never again. I would not recommend anyone move in here. Horrible staff at the leasing office, and apparently they allow 45 year old men with multiple felonies including assault to live with 20 year old college students. (I found out his criminal history when a police officer who responded to our neighbors calling the police due to the banging let me know his prior convictions) Then allow them to stay there while destroying everyones living space. I was disgusted with this apartment complex. Move in at your own risk. Response to owners response: You did not issue him a notice to vacate. You allowed him to pay the damages and continue living there. Then he continued to damage the apartment repeatedly and broke all the windows again after the leasing office had them fixed, which took two months I might add. This did not go on for a short time it went on for months before you finally evicted this guy. You evicted him two days before I moved out. Your apartment complex is a joke. You do the bare minimum to keep tenants and when someone leaves an honest review on you, you lie and dismiss their problems. Let this be a lesson to anyone thinking about moving here. Any problems you have they will brush off and lie about. As I said before, move in at your own risk. Also: Just as a side note, this apartment complex has 14 five star reviews and 42 one star reviews. One of those being mine. Also if you look at their five star reviews, most of those are coming from accounts that have never reviewed anything before. Thats what I would call SUSPECT. So if my review doesnt stop you from renting here, just check out some of their other terrible reviews, they have plenty of them to choose from.

The cops are there almost every day and in the middle of night giant roaches crawl out from under the sink " yes I did call the pest control and yes nothing happened" and if you have any problem going to the front office won't help you at all you'll just be met up with slack-jaw response . They moved in a crazy old lady and she would stand outside my bedroom door yelling crazy stuff and any saying I don't have locked up in my bedroom was missing because of this crazy old lady. Went to the office to ask for them to move and they told me when anything is available though let me know a week past I went back to the office to ask them if there is any availability to move? And their response was oh I didn't know you wanted to move I thought you liked it there with the crazy old lady. Don't waste your time or your money at this place . reading the owner responding to the reviews like they actually care is a joke

Very disappointed with the service provided by this apartment complex. The leasing office is not cooperative at all. I had to move to the west coast in the middle of my lease term due to a job promotion. The leasing office was very uncooperative in working with me to opt out of my lease. Also, despite me putting advertisements for my replacement, they asked for a $500 replacement fee and promised that they would look for people to replace me. However, when I used to send potential replacements, nothing comes of it. I have sent over 10-15 applicants their way with no result. I have had to pay the remainder of the lease term out of my own pocket. I have been paying since March 2018 for an empty room that I no longer reside in. I also have not received my move out statement despite confirmation from the leasing office. Very unprofessional and uncooperative staff. However, the room is decent for the given price and is good for students and singles. The maintenance staff is also good and promptly fixed any issues. So 1 star for both those positive factors.

Room was okay and worth the price paid for it,However I find it unbelievable that you are not allowed to opt out off your lease at this apartment.I got transferred at work October last year and requested I get a total payment amount to opt out of my lease and move on with my life.. They clearly declined my request for no useful reasons other that being wicked and heartless.This apartment has made me pay rents and bills from October last year till date even when I have not lived a night in that room since then.Also my office does a reimbursement and wanted to assist in breaking my lease but Connection declines. I feel God decided to punish me by making me sign a lease and move into this apartment.

The maintenance is the best around! I've not found a best friend living in the connection, but that was expected. Even when's someone lives with a best friend, it can turn sour. So I was excited to be paired with random people in case things went south. But my all time favorite thing about the Connection is the maintenance and how quickly and efficiently they get any requests, whether they be big or small, you may have.

But the day I moved out, when my lease expired, they gave me a final utility bill. When I tried to pay it, they said it was too late, they had already sent the bill to a collection agency. They have this idiotic policy that they send all bills to a collection agency the day they are due. In all my years I have never seen such a stupid idea from an apartment company. Stay away from Roscoe!!!

My roommates never had visitors come in. We all kept our apartment clean. Management was never rude to me. I feel like its a place to get started if you are trying to move. It's not for a long term situation. It was great as a stepping stone for me.

I'm having the worst experience ever at these apartments...My rental car was towed and I was told it was my fault because I didn't park in visitor's parking.I live here but oh wait I didn't have a car sticker on my RENTAL car? I just got in it that day and was leaving out of town the next morning..193$ later.I'm not completely understood no empathy what so ever and told SORRY .I just moved over there 3 months ago, not to mention bat sightings on the property, dogs chasing me to my car..no lease on the dogs..Bed bugs from neighbor's..Just the worst experience since coming from Houston..They don't treat their paying residents like this, if they were suspected of anything they would send you an email or call you before they inconvenience your life...My car was in a wreck if that's not stressful enough..I put it in the shop come home to pack because my boyfriend's birthday on Dec 2 ..and they tow my dam rental..I put up with a lot noisy neighbors, people second hand smoke, dirty, smelly apt and I don't complain at all..This is not the connect I need. After calling the Regional Manager all day and no response wow..I don't want to give them no more of my money....So I go in the office and the manager has no idea what I'm talking about?!..Long story short I want my money back and a new policy in place..Simply place a ticket on any unauthorized vehicles and give them until EOD to move it or it would be towed. Office is rude, lazy and seem somewhat racist towards certain people... Tired of all the homeless people bathing in the pool. There's people who come here and try to pick fights and review their motorcycle engines, break into apartments, a man was sleeping on my balcony among other tendons balconies. It's just hilarious and extremely amusing that they won't contact law enforcement for people like this but a black man with baggy shorts on gets the cops called immediately, red flag Have you fill out a complaint form and literally will not follow through with it. Get your s*** together, Connection. Call the cops on these people because they could potentially put everyone's lives in danger. People have dogs here too and they don't Need to get injured because of careless motorcycle etiquette and you guys "not being allowed to call the cops" but you'll call the cops on a group of African Americans minding their own business... This is why people keep leaving without saying anything. This is why no one likes living here. And this is why no one wants to go to the office for help because y'all don't do anything. Start calling the cops, people. I don't know why every other complex will do that except this one.

The apartment is overall nice to live at, but the problem is if you live on the first floor with AC running outside by the window, the noise is tested between 65-80dB inside the room every 20 mins which is extremely loud and illegal. But the apartment refused to provide a solution such as seperating the areas or adding sound proof devices.

Expect to get bedbugs and have your life a living hell for the majority of the time you live here. I moved in in febuary and didnt find out until after I moved in that the apt next to ours was infested. My apt has been inftested for the past 7 weeks and counting! And this isnt even the worst thing to happen here either. I have seen more happen here in the few months living here than in the entire 4 years at my previous apt. When you complain to the office staff you either get the cold shoulder or just outright indifference. Even Rosco properties the company that owns the complex gives you the same cold shoulder when you try to talk to them. So good luck if you dont heed my warning about this complex.

It's just okay -- I stay in the 3/3. The rooms are smallish. Fits a queen size bed, a book shelf, a tv stand aaaand you're pushing it if you try anything else. The walls are PAPER thin. So if your roommate is obnoxious w/ their sexual activities...hope you don't mind listening. The staff is friendly. I can't really say helpful, but they are friendly. I had an issue when I 1st moved in. On my original roommate matching form I said I was okay with a dog and later changed my preference. I emailed the change and was later matched with someone with a dog. When I called to ask about the match I was told that my edited form was never received, even tho the person who I was talking to on the phone was who received it. How did I know? Because she responded to the updated form. So again, friendly, yes, helpful not so much. The "move in day" is a mess -- go as late as possible or schedule to move in a day late. They have an "express line" that isn't express. The maitenance guys are okay, everything takes 1/2 business days to get done. Locking yourself out is not considered an emergency -- so yeah get prepared to come out of pocket for pop a lock or give a friend a spare. Overall, if you just need a room and you really dont' plan on being there. It's fine. It's not great NOTHING is updated tho, so don't expect that. But the rent went up to like $529 or something for the 3/3 -- No thanks.

I would not recommend. My apartment had been broken into twice and my door hasn't been fixed for nearly 3 months. Returned from work to find that the front door locks were changed with no notification whatsoever and I am now locked out with no way of contacting office or anywhere. Tonight is supposed to be sub 40 and I don't have a way of getting in.

* WARNING: "THE HEIGHTS ON OLTORF" IS NOW "CONNECTION" ITS THE EXACT SAME MANAGEMENT! * I've had multiple issue with this apartment complex. I have come to regret signing a year lease, but I can honestly say, with the multiple times I called the police to report emotionally unstable roommates, due to the "random roommate matching service" that left myself (an inspired, veteran, college graduate) stuck with people who don't share my common interests or values nor were college students. Among the various activities that I know about my former roommates that they regularly shoplift, underage drink, smoke pot in the apartment, buy alcohol for minors, play loud stereo music and feel the need to run the laundry regularly after 2 AM. The staff is slow to deal with roommate issues, and seem to make a special point to be as rude and unprofessional as possible, as if they seem to lack training to provide even a basic level of service or competency to their jobs. On one instance: the manager Katy insisted on speaking over me as I informed them of issues in the apartment, while Mathew the assistant manager double-teamed chiming in "I don't care" after everything I told them. Combined with constant problems with the air conditioner systems, and various other maintenance issues that are never fully resolved, nor even addressed; no one could ever fault me for simply NOT recommending this place, but STRONGLY DISCOURAGING others from ever becoming tenants here as well. I have heard nothing but problems from other tenants for whom I survey on property as I have constantly recounted the uphill battle I had to fight with management to acknowledge and get the CONVICTED FELON FROM CALIFORNIA who was squatting in my apartment (an UNAUTHORIZED guest of a former [now evicted] roommate I had) out of my apartment once and for all. The kinds of things I frequently hear from other tenants are concerns about rampant marijuana use, and underage drinking and apathy on the part of management and other tenants seems to be prevalent, two very volatile ingredients in making a bad community. I have been in and out of the leasing office trying to work with the management to end the illicit activity in my apartment. The management was only resistive in my efforts to better my environment, going so far as attempting to bully me into leaving the property saying I had a chance to walk, when I forced them to acknowledge the problems they were too apathetic to address. Finally, when management decided I had complained too much about the conditions in my apartment, they fined me, After I had my lawyer get involved, the management retaliated and forced me to move to an even more distressed apartment filled with dog hair, pet stains, water damage and clutter.

The Connection has it's pros and cons. It's on the East Side.. so you don't have to look far to find sketch people. I noticed they slap paint on the walls, (in spots that need it? especially before a tenant moves in), without using a finish. I would often clean the walls, and while scrubbing them, the paint would come off. Not a Big deal because it's really just more work for them. Management and maintenance teams are great! Thanks to the office team, I was paired with two wonderful roommates! ! The office seemed to really work with me when resolving any issues. If you mind your business and stay away from the courtyard at night.. it's a decent place to call home!

4 stars still... Moved in, everything was functioning and clean aside from some maintenance debris in my bathroom that was missed and some chemical stains in the closet. Even still, the place is in decent condition for the 3 bed and 3 bath. Rooms are a bit small, but big enough to live in I feel. Staff are friendly and helpful most of the time, I'm sure everyone has their off days so I will update on this later. And the move in experience was pretty easy, granted I moved in with permission after the huge move day so that's probably why. Over the next couple of months I will finalize this review but so far. A decent place to live with affordable rates, decent enough neighbors, and all the amenities I could want from a apt complex including free basic internet from Google Fiber. Here's hoping things continue to go this smoothly as I live here!

They screwed up my apartment and room, and we needed to change out keys, and the rooms are very small, but for the price this is the perfect location. Very close to downtown, affordable, clean, and quiet so far. Plus free internet Google fiber! I wasn't promised a 200 dollar gift card, but others were talking about it during sign in. Would really appreciate that and give one more star like Alex if received.
