I went to tour the Dorado heights apartments mid September and was very pleased by the lady's in the office. All three were welcoming and informative. I also have a few friends whom already live on property. They have informed me that the maintenance staff is excellent and also willing to help, even to change a light bulb. I will definitely be leasing with them this summer.

I have lived in these apartments for 6 months now and have enjoyed it so far. Management is always courteous and friendly. Yes, it is noisy but what can a person expect living directly off Montgomery? The pool and laundry room are on the small side for such a large complex but I have never had an issue finding a washer to use. The laundry room could be kept a bit cleaner.

The apartments are fairly nice. Maintenance is good about getting out for major repairs and fixes but minor issues get completely ignored. Understandable, as they are minor. The office staff has been friendly, but some of the policies are frustrating, especially with neighbor disputes. The standing policy (as far as I understand) is to evict both tenants regardless of what the issue is. The high school is right next door, and even from the far side of the complex and all windows closed the band is loud and frustrating. Not recommended if you sleep in or work nights.

I've been living here for 3 months, after looking at many different apartment complexes within this price range around the city. Units further away from Montgomery are quieter, of course. I am pleased with the feel of the complex, the helpfulness of the staff, and the quality of my neighbors. It does help when you make a point to get to know the people who live around you. I also love the views from my 2nd-story apartment, which are some of the best in the city. Absolutely beautiful! You can see the mountains and the cityscape unobstructed from my balcony, and it's nice to sit outside to just enjoy the weather. Also, the 2nd-story apartments have vaulted ceilings, which makes them feel bigger. :) Every place has issues, right? But overall, I've been very pleased with this place. The staff even helped me move into my apartment, and qualify without a co-signer, with an extra deposit. This is something few places will do, and I felt the staff went above & beyond to help after my bankruptcy/disability. It's been a tough few years, but Dorado Heights has helped me to rebuild a better life for myself. It's also within walking distance to Starbucks, Sprouts, Walgreens, Flying Star, a baking company, hair salons, a Walmart neighborhood store, a pet store, a dollar store, a Nazarene church (the people are nice), and some other restaurants -- some of their patios being pet-friendly. So it's easy to get around (and right on the bus line) if you don't have a vehicle.

The staff struggles to elucidate the details of lease agreements. The website struggles to allow easy payment. Enforcement of policies, like cleaning up animal excrement, are lacking or non-existent. Not to mention the clamor of the Eldorado High School Band in proximity to the premise. To sum it up, bad staff leads to extraneous charges on an otherwise below average apartment complex.

I lived at these apartments for five years. At first the office staff was fine then about two years ago the staff started to take a turn for the worse. There is no better way to put it, they got rude! After some repairs to the apartment, my wife and I noticed some DVDs, and xbox games were missing. When she called to report the theft to the office, they dismissed her saying that the staff values their jobs and wouldn't rob from their tenets. Since we couldn't prove anything we let it drop. We also had packages that were delivered to the office, signed for by the front office, but no one at the front office could find them. When we asked about the packages, the office were very dismissive with us. The office staff also tends to not know their numbers. On several occasions I was given the incorrect amount due for the additional charges for garbage and water. Then I was told it was my fault for not writing the check for the correct amount. Even when I gave them my forwarding address they sent my final correspondence to the incorrect address. Now I'm not saying that everyone that works there is incompetent or rude or a thief, but it's better just to avoid this place.

It IS on Montgomery, one of Albuquerque's busiest, loudest streets. It IS by the high school and the band DOES practice early. If you don't mind keeping your windows shut, or if you are an early riser that loves a brass band, it can work! The price is cheaper than most apts, and there are banks, grocery stores, and other shopping located nearby. I do all of my errands within 1-2 miles of the apt. The view of the mountain is nice. The laundry room is better than a lot of other apts I've checked out. The workout room is okay, but got boring for me, not enough variety, and I feel they need to move the aerobics to the back (empty) room, and add more machines. The office staff has always been helpful to me, and the MAINTENANCE IS A-PLUS. That means a lot to me.

My partner and I lived here for 10 months, and it was the worst time of my life. When we first moved in, our first problem with the office staff. They are constantly rude and act like you're bothering them by being in their presence. The only kind and respectful person in the office is Renee. Amenities wise, the pool is a little bit bigger than a hot tub, the laundry facility is always full, and the neighbors are sketchy. We sucked it up, since the lease end cost is over $1,000. On Christmas day 2014, my partner went to take the trash to the garbage cans, and was approached by a man in the apartment parking lot, who was bloodied and limping. He began to speak to my partner, saying that he was mugged and beaten up and needed my partner's help to go get his money back. My partner declined, and began walking back to our apartment. The man started following closely behind him. My partner started running around the complex to get away from him, and finally lost him. Everything gradually got worse when 6 months after living there, my car was broken into. When I told the office staff, they shrugged it off and told me there are no cameras around the buildings. APD, of course, could do nothing. A few weeks after my car had gotten broken into, the leasing office was broken into.Nothing was stolen, but windows were smashed. A month later, on a Friday night at 12am, a man came to our door claiming to be maintenance. He was not wearing a company shirt, tool belt, or had any tools with him. To get emergency A/C maintenance, it needs to be over 80 outside, but it was only 74. He said we had called him because our air conditioner wasn't working, and he asked to come inside. Confused, we told him we did not call about our air conditioner. He proceeded to try to convince us to let him come in and look at it, and began to poke his head in our door. We shooed him away, but he kept claiming someone called him. We quickly ended the conversation, and shut the door. We looked through the peephole, and noticed him going to all of our neighbors houses doing the same thing. You have been warned.

My whole experience as a tenant at these apartments has been miserable. Renee who works in the office is very rude and disrespectful when calling to get information she has hung up on me several times. The office staff are very rude and when they call you to get information it is not a pleasant experience its like they are bullies and stalkers. When I have had packages delivered and left in the office I call to see if they are there it seems to bother them that I am trying to locate the package. The apartments allow the owners of dogs to run free and not be on a leash. The apartments smell like mildew and smoke and let me mention that there are cockaroaches that live in my apartment with me not by choice either. If you have a problem with a tenant either partying or loud and excessive noise no one cares they just over look it and let the problem carry on. If you are looking for a nice place to live this is not it!! BEWARE!! RUN PEOPLE RUN STAY AWAY!!

DONT ever move into these apartments. The staff is so unbelievably rude! They told us that visitors aren't allowed to sleep over and dogs aren't allowed to live in the apartments (which is a LIE). They've stickered my car TWICE when BOTH cars were registered with them. After we moved out, they decided to lie to us claiming that we must clean the carpet, when in reality they are supposed to do that and then they tried telling us there was a fee to clean the carpet (which there wasn't). Luckily, I didn't fall into the trap of them taking my money with this "fee". Oh, and the neighbors are so damn rude.

Obviously the people here don't look before they rent. If you grew up in NM or have even lived here for some time then you know that Montgomery is basically the main street of ABQ besides downtown. If you didn't know that before then you are just stupid. Don't complain about the noise on Montgomery when you knew what you were getting in to. Also, hello have you never been to High School. It is pretty obvious that there is a school right there and um all schools have bands that practice, don't they? Stop complaining, it's common sense and you should of asked about those things when choosing where to live. Not the apartments fault about the traffic and noise of other business'.
